Downstairs toilet adds 5% to property value

Adding a downstairs toilet to a property can increase its value by around 5%, according to online estate agent MakeUrMove, which equates to up to £18,000 according to average house price figures for September 2015 from the Office of National Statistics

A downstairs toilet typically costs between £2,500 and £4,000 to install, including materials and labour, and takes between one to two weeks to complete, according to the MakeUrMove.
