Summer 2017 – What is Tempered Safety Glass?

Tempered safety glass

How is it made? – Ordinary glass is first cut to size and then heated to its softening point, followed by rapid and uniform cooling of the glass surface.

Features & Benefits include –

Safety – When the glass is damaged, the debris form into small honeycomb-like pieces, thus reduce the risk of injury.

High strength – Impact strength for tempered glass is 3 to 5 times that of ordinary glass o the same thickness.

Thermal stability – Tempered glass can withstand temperature difference of about 3 times that of ordinary glass of the same thickness.
