Bateau Bath

The iconic “Bateau Bath” has been loved since its rst inception in 1890. Praised for its elegant symmetry, it was referred to as the “Boat Bath” due to its rolled top and comfortable interior. Traditionally made in cast iron, manufacturers have taken inspiration from its classic shape and experimented with different materials to re ect the ever- changing bathroom market.

The world’s rst acrylic Boat Bath was created 15 years ago and still retains the classic lines of the original design. A solid cast, hand-polished Aluminium version is a showstopper, much lighter than the cast iron models of yesteryear and does not tarnish like the original.

BC Designs offer a painting service on all of their Boat Baths where customers can choose colours from Farrow & Ball and The Little Greene Paint Company to match their décor. Each bath is painted by hand in their workshop based in Colchester, Essex.
